Most stains can eventually be removed by following these procedures. However, some stains are stubborn and may only be lightened.
Promptness – Treat stains as quickly as possible before laundering. Age and washing prior to retreating can set some stains.
Patience – If the garment is worth saving, it’s worth extra effort and time to follow stain removal procedures.
Persistence – Because some stains are difficult to remove, it may be necessary to repeat a procedure several times.

As messages about the financial gains of energy conservation gain momentum with consumers, new Efficient Sudbury partner Green Star Laundry reminds customers that being energy efficient is also about benefiting the environment.
Recognizing that people are becoming more educated about their impact on the environment, Laundromat proprietor George Van Embden wanted to give his customers the opportunity to do their part for the planet.
At Green Star Laundry, all the washing machines are ENERGY STAR® qualified and use about 50% less water than conventional top loading washers. Likewise, the dryers use about 23% less natural gas and have the lowest BTU on the market.
But using high-efficiency washers and dryers is just one way that Van Embden ensures that his business lives up to its commitment to ‘global greening one wash at a time.”
A tankless system generates hot water on demand, eliminating the need for a hot water storage tank, and a drainwater return line used for heat recovery makes the system even more energy efficient. There are ENERGY STAR TV’s in the TV lounge and the children’s area, ENERGY STAR computers in the internet lounge, and the bathroom features an ultra low-flush toilet. Customers who purchase their laundry soap at Green Star receive phosphate-free detergent in a reusable plastic container, and display boards feature energy saving tips and information about various environmental initiatives in Greater Sudbury.
Green Star Laundry opened for business on Earth Day, April 22, 2008.

Last month new business owner, George Van Embden, held a fundraising event at his Green Star Laundry premises on Paris Street. With a Christmas in July-Hawaiin theme as the mood, laundry customers cleaned their laundry while helping to support the CTV-Lions Children’s Christmas Telethon. A large percentage of George’s receipts from the day went towards this community cause. With a $5.00 donation, customers received a redeemable coupon for a free wash at his store. With help from Aramark Food Suppliers, Vrab’s Independent Grocers, A&P, A Moment for You Hair Salon, Precision Ink, Indian Summer Restaurant and Linda Miller (Account Executive-CBC), local businesses donated (food, party items, prizes etc) to help make this event a true success!
